Independence Day fireworks display Following the band concert will be the famous Norway fireworks display. From Main Street look north toward Norway Mountain where the Norway Volunteer Fire Department will shoot off one of the best displays in Dickinson County at dusk.

Independence Day Parades The Kiddie Parade begins at 6:30 pm followed by the main parade down Main Street in Norway. (Details: Line-up for the Kiddie parade will be on 10th Avenue-north side of city hall. the Main Parade line-up will be on 11th and Railroad Avenues. Participants are requested to arrive at least 45 minutes before start of parade. No registration is required. Items given to the parade onlookers should be handed out by someone alongside the entry. For safety, throwing of candy, etc. is not allowed. Horse groups: please provide a clean-up person to follow your horses.) Lions Club Community Picnic The Vulcan-Norway-Loretto Lions Club Community Picnic will be held Sunday, July 13, at Marion Park. The park is located on Route 8, across fromt eh Dickinson county Fairgrounds 1/2 mile south of Norway. Grilled chicken, sandwiches, and refreshments will be served beginning at 11 am. Activities include: horseshoe competition, kids' games and raffles. Bring your lawn chairs and enjoy the day with friends and family. The Lions have hosted this fundraising picnic for 37 years. Through the generosity of the community and businesses and with participation in events such as our picnic we are able to donate between $6,000 and $7,000 annually back into our community.

Dickinson County Bike Path Committee meeting Regular meeting of the Bike Path committee is Tuesday, July 15 from 6:30-7:30 pm in the Dickinson County Library , 401 Iron Mountain Street, in downtown Iron Mountain. They are working on a county-wide bike path system that will include Norway. The public is always welcome and encouraged to join or participate in this community effort.

Favorite Son of Norway Recognized John "Jack" Ralston, Norway graduate and former football coach at Stanford University and Denver Broncos will be honored as a Favorite Son of Norway in festivities planned for July 26, 2008. Arrangements are being coordinated by the Jake Menghini Museum. Tentative plans include a down town parade and a Banquet/dinner program. Banquet tickets will be available. A special display of Coach Ralston's memorabilia will be the feature attraction at the Museum beginning in May.
