is that of May 15th.
We pay tribute.
At the time of Moraska’s End of Watch,
he was 26 years of age,
having stood with our community's
police force for two years.
Patrolman Moraska died by gunfire
while responding to a domestic disturbance,
the only officer working that shift.
He was survived by his wife and child.
The suspect, arrested after
leading other officers on a six-hour chase,
was found guilty of second-degree murder,
and sentenced to life in prison.
Moraska is the Norway Police Department's only officer
to be killed in the line of duty.
He would have been 70 years old
on May 11th, 2015.
The City of Norway
commemorates Officer Moraska;
his life, and his death.
We are grateful for his service,
mindful of his sacrifice,
and sorrowful to have seen him go.
We have not forgotten.
